If you say being social, you get you the prize.

I’m writing about social media and how a lot of people who have approached me the past few days via Facebook or Twitter, do it all wrong. I’d just like to provide some etiquette to the few this pertains too. Grant it, not everyone is going about being social the wrong way online, but there are some things that I’d like to clear up for them.

The story behind this post is that during the past few days I’ve been joining a lot of networking marketing groups on Facebook to connect with folks and, of course, eventually introduce them to my business. However, something weird started happening. I started receiving a lot of add requests with either no introductions or requests with notes straight away about their business.

It happened once and I let go by. It happened twice, and I addressed the individual on the proper way to being social online. It happened three times and I figured that there must be a lot of marketers out there using Facebook and other social media platforms totally wrong. With wrong usage you end up with less than ideal results.

So, I’m writing to help others out in being more social when it comes to using social media platforms to grow their business or make connections.

If you look at from the following standpoint, I think you’ll see that it makes a lot more sense. Being social online is just like meeting someone in the real world. First, you introduce yourself and provide a comment that establishes some common ground, like:
“Hey Reginald, I see that you’re a network marketer as well. I recently joined this group and hope to make connections and exchange ideas on how to be a more effective marketer.”

That opening right there I, nor anyone else, would have a problem accepting your friend request or tweet. Now, during the course of email exchanges or chats, you’ll be able to ask questions that would indicate whether or not that person would be a good fit for your opportunity.

Not everyone is cut out to be on your team, by the way. I remember when I was learning about networking marketing, I was told about the three foot rule – anyone within three feet of you is a potential recruit and you should go talk to them about your business. I remember how slimy I felt every time I approached someone with that thinking and mindset.

I sort of feel like that now, but only in reverse, when someone approach me like that without first trying to find out what I’m all about. I have feelings and stuff.

Truth be told, I have a great business that I’m involved in. If your business does not give you free customers and distributors, then I’m 99.9% sure that I’m not going to be interested. Once that’s settled, we can talk about anything you care to. By the way, I have a post that guides you through the questions you should be asking before joining a network marketing opportunity. Go check it out.

So, to reiterate the point that I’ve repeated in the post – social media is about being social. Network with people, get to know them and what makes them tick, and then you’ll be a better position to offer assistance, vis-a-vis your business opportunity. If you’re not doing it this way, you greatly reduce your chance of success.

Tips from one networker to another.

Most people have a completely delusional view of MLM. They think that multilevel marketing is a whirlwind venture in which a person has to hop from one seminar to another, write books, promote and sell products, attend training sessions and other whatnots.

In fact, the impression of MLM being a very hectic activity is so well-etched in laypeople’s minds that they do not want to enter into these opportunities, fearing that they will have to put in a lot of work for results that do not come by so easily.

However, do not let this delude you. These are downright erroneous notions, something that you could really do without if you are contemplating on making the best of a multilevel marketing venture. You have to understand and implement the core MLM secret –

“Work Less, Network More!”

What does that mean now? In a simple language that means you have to put in a smaller amount of physical efforts but a greater amount of efforts into basic networking. Multilevel marketing is also referred to as network marketing. This is a venture where you build networks. Most compensation plans in MLM will pay out in a direct proportion to the number of people that are present in the network.

Yes, there are direct sales commissions also, but this is exactly what you should not focus on. When you are looking at MLM from a direct sales point of view, you are putting yourself in for a lot of work with little results.

Think about it – When you are directly selling a product, it is a onetime sale. You are probably not going to sell the product again to the client unless it is something that needs to be purchased on a regular basis such as a healthcare product.

In any case, you have only one client with one pursuit. You get your commissions only at that point. To get more commissions, you will have to pursue another client. And that does mean a lot of work.

That is why most of the successful MLM experts prioritize their tasks in such a manner that they do not actually sell but they forge networks. Their work is all directed in expanding the network of people and they do not mind if actual sales do not happen.

When you put your efforts into expanding your network, your residual income begins to pile up. This network will be your marketing army which will keep pushing your venture to new horizons.

The crux is to make a network. Put in your efforts into that. You don’t need an astronomical amount of effort here because you can hone your personality to convince a lot of people at once, such as through a seminar, video, online marketing, etc.

Now compare that with the effort you need to put in for individual sales and the paltry income that comes in through that and you will understand the difference.

Before starting to write this article or post, I did some research on some articles sites to figure out what questions people asked themselves before joining a network marketing company – whether the product be high, medium, or low end.

Some questions that came up from those articles makes sense to me and I wanted to share them here, followed by the two most two important questions at the end.

1. Does my product have a SIGNIFICANT VALUE in the market place?

Significant Value does not mean, people might need it or you think people will need it, significant value means that there is a PROVEN HIGH DEMAND for the problem your product is attempting to solve. I think anything in the fitness industry is of significant value because it relates to your health. Without good health, anything else that you try to do is just not the same. Wouldn’t you agree?

2. Does my MLM product effectively answer that Need, NO QUESTIONS ASKED?

In other words, if you want to lose weight or want to show products from your company that show how to lose weight, does it answer that need?

3. Are there already a ton of competitors in your market?

Now, this is one industry that there aren’t any lack of product in. To be honest, do people really know or care about the ORAC factor of a particular juice? They just want to know that this product works for so and so, and it might work for you as well. So, the competition is not really a factor as long as you have some strong testimonials.

By ton, I don’t mean 1 or 2, by ton I mean 100s upon thousands of globally recognized products that are already dominating your niche market. Products that people already Identify with & have a stronger marketing plan then you do.

4. Is this an effective Business Model that will pay me for SELLING this product or do I have to sell millions upon millions of these products before I get to my real goals?

This question made me think a bit. But in the end, I’m not sure you want to get into selling retail. I want to build a business and the cost of doing business with this particular company is to consume its products. This question should be be focused on the business aspect. However, I understand that people may think their particular product is great and want to share it. You should realize that by getting them in the business, they’ll be consuming the product as well.

5. What do you think about the leadership? Do you trust them? Do they have real-world experience to back up their excitement? Do they stretch their facts/figures or do they tell the unvarnished truth? Is the organization financially stable?

I think learning about the leadership is important. Equally as important is the leadership of your upline. I’m a former Marine Officer, and the leadership that the Marines under your charge see most readily is yours. It’s the same in a network marketing company. If you are not teaching the right way to to things, they’ll teach the wrong way to their team members. The downline looks to the upline first and foremost before really looking to the executive team of the company.

6. What do you think of the compensation plan? Do you understand how to make money with the business? Are there any parts of the compensation plan that you are uncomfortable with?

Most people do not really understand the different ways they can make money from the business, either because their upline did not show them or because they did not take the time to find the answer. If you’re going to build a team, you better be able to talk about what’s going to affect their bottom line.

The two most important questions to me, aside from the ones above are:

1. Does the company provide free consumers?

This relates to you getting a certain number of distributors of your own and then your company providing consumers that just want to buy products one time or on autoship. Is that part of your companies structure? I can’t say that I’ve seen any company, except one, provide that.

2. Does the company provide free business builders?

This particular question, just like the one above it, relates to the company giving you free distributors that you don’t have to work for to get, to help you build your organization. There are no organizations, except one, that I know that do provide free distributors.

So, when people come to me about their opportunity, the first two questions I ask are the last two. Unless your company provide those two free components to helping me grow quickly, it’s hard for me to even consider listening to what you have.

If you’re interested in learning more about this company, which is in the health and fitness industry, go to my page, check out the video, and enter your details to learn more. Work From Home This Year

Most people who are in business know who Robert Kiyosaki is. He’s the famous author behind the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series of financial books and has talked about network marketing as one of the most perfect business models on the planet.

But why has one who has never been involved in network marketing seem to endorse it as a good business model? Some may claim that this is a hypocritical endorsement, but in reality, Kiyosaki’s findings are founded on solid business building principles and hence are valid observations.

Robert talk about the different quadrants and that is the fundamental understanding you must have in order to see how that relates to network marketing. The quadrants of E, S, B, I are discussed below.

E stands for employee, where you are under legal employment working for an employer getting a paycheck. As you know, most employees are stuck in a rat race, where the employee is constantly working to pay off his debts to the government, the taxation institutes as well as the banks. You are here looking for something different because you understand this. There s little freedom in this quadrant and in order to exit from the rat race, you must progress into different quadrants.

S stands for small business. Small business applies wot self employed men and women as well. Most self employed people end up doing the job themselves…all of it, from being the salesperson, the marketing and PR person, and to actually doing the job once you have a client or contract. This quadrant of businessmen and women is ok, but it lacks the leveraging of others.

B is the quadrant Kiyosaki wants to get people into where you run a BIG business by leveraging people ‘under’ you. If you have a team of individuals who each perform different parts of the business, you’re now in a place of leverage to grow and expand. I am in agreement with the following quote from Andrew Carnegie, “I would rather have one percent of 100 people’s efforts than 100 percent of my own.”

Lastly, is the ‘I’ quadrant, where big business investors wind up. They use their money or OPM, other people’s money, to earn MORE money.

So, where does network marketing come into play after learning about these quadrants?

Kiyosaki describes the network marketing business model as the perfect business simply because he believes that you can easily jump from the ‘E’ quadrant directly into the ‘B’ quadrant without going through the hardships of the ‘S’ quadrant.

When you start a network marketing business, the most important skills you will learn are business skills. Skills such as managing people, understanding the needs of your customer, how to invest your time and money wisely and lots of self-improvement, mindset changing awareness that will take your business skills to the next level.

The most important aspect about being in a network marketing business is that you get to learn all these business skills at a very low investment (a couple of dollars to a few hundred dollars worth of product investment), the guidance and training from a mentoring upline, and all the time in the world for someone to develop those business skills. After all, not everyone’s aptitude are alike. A network marketing business will help you to build those skills even if you are a slow learner – because you don’t have to worry about huge
rental or inventory costs unlike a traditional business in the S or B quadrant.

A good mentor will go a long way in helping you, not only with the mentioned skills, but with the right marketing. One that I’ve noticed is that most people are not skilled at marketing. If your mentor is not skilled at it either, than you won’t learn it from the start and that could slow you growth.

The facts indicate that what Robert Kiyosaki says is valid and true about network marketing indeed, being the perfect business. Now, it’s about picking the right opportunity for you and finding a mentor, hopefully your upline, who can guide you to truly having the perfect business.

Goto to Perfect Business Model now!

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is one of the most effective ways to drive traffic to a site and in turn make you money in internet network marketing.

Let’s explore this concept and how this can benefit you in growing your internet network marketing business.

SEO focuses on organic search engine traffic. This means that you do not have to spend a cent for paid advertising campaigns like Pay-Per-Click (PPC) on Google, Yahoo, MSN, or any other search engines. All traffic on SEO is free.

Furthermore, SEO traffic is perceived to be of a higher quality compared to PPC. When you search for something on Google, where do you click? Left or right? Most probably the sites listed on the left because it somehow seems more popular or “feels right”, right?

That is why SEO is very relevant.

Why is SEO good for your network marketing business?

SEO is good for your network marketing business because it is generally a low competition market (compared to debt consolidation or credit cards) because not many network marketers are bringing their business online…yet. On the other hand, people who are good with SEO might not get involved in network marketing. They generally prefer to spend more time in front of the computer and they could be afraid of network marketing (either because people have tried to recruit them in the past or they simply dislike the industry for whatever reason).

Simply put, very few network marketers are ‘SEO guys/gals’ and very few SEO guys/gals are network marketers.

So you should be able to get your sites ranked easily. By site, I mean a site you designed or had designed for you. Using the replicated site from your company is not the best thing to use. I’ll explain why in another article.

Here are a few tips you must focus on to get your site ranked easily on the Internet.

Focus on optimizing your site’s and your brand name and not your company’s, by writing articles that position you as a leader. You want to brand yourself and you do that using your site or blog. Submit these article directories like E-zine Articles and other online article directories. Remember to use a proper anchor text for your article and your site – e.g. Internet Network Marketing.

Next, you need to target long tail keywords. A long tail keyword example is – “Lose weight with Herbalife” or “How Transfer Factor Works”. I will get into how to properly search for long tail keywords in another article.

You can use social networking and marketing sites, such as Squidoo Lenses and Hub Pages, to get traffic and bolster your rankings easily. These two sites are considered high authority sites and you will be able to get traffic if you write good content. There are easily dozens of authority ebooks on the proper way to build hubpages and lenses. You can research that online.

At the end of the day, you don’t need to have a super high ranking site or a blog in order to get traffic. You need to do the small things consistently, like submitting articles and getting links pointing back to your site. The key is to drive traffic no matter which search engine ranking position you are in – it is no point getting rank no.1 if no one is searching for that keyword.

There are three kinds of people in the world – those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder what the heck has just happened!

Most of the time, people who want to achieve freedom badly enough will fall into the first category of ‘happening’ people.

Freedom can come in many forms – time freedom, financial freedom or the freedom to spend time with your friends, relatives, church members and other community services. But there is one very important thing about freedom…

Freedom isn’t free! You have to fight for it. The American colonists fought for their independence in a bloody war just because they wanted to be free. But in network marketing, we are fighting a very different kind of war…it is a war of freedom.

The American economy hasn’t been stable as of late. If you do not fight hard for your cash, you will wind up being swept away by the tide. After all, getting more money isn’t an easy affair anymore. Investors are starting to save money. Customers are no longer willing to spend. Banks are tightening their credit and rising oil prices are making lives harder and harder for people.

When you consider time freedom, you must also remember that this is the 21st century. We have microwaves, cable ‘on-demand’ TV, faster downloads, more convenient transport and instant email. However, our lives are not getting easier. People are expecting more and more. Working hours are no longer 9-5 as employees work late into the night for the same pay. For the first time since the history of the industrial revolution, people are actually working more and more for the same or less pay.

Lastly, when you consider the stress of the world and the strain it takes on relationships, you must fight for your loved ones more and more! Being buried in the office isn’t a productive way to live your life. After all, no one lies on their deathbed wondering if they should have spent more time in the office.

When you consider all the facts above, one striking fact remains… Are you working hard enough in your network marketing business? Are you giving your very best for your downlines? Are you working hard to be a good ambassador of your great business opportunity? At the end of the day, are you working hard enough to attain your freedom? Only you can answer this question – how badly do you want your freedom?
